competitive by the day and several labels are
springing up to become heavyweights in this industry.
The importance of the Nigerian music industry on the
African continent and the world can’t be
overemphasized.
There are a few labels in Nigeria competing to be the
best in the game today, and they have several a-list
artists who dish out hit singles one after the other
from
time to time.
We take a close look at two of the biggest Nigerian
labels, Mavin and YBNL today, while juxtaposing
some of their hit singles that has been released in the
past year (August ’14-15), and want you the fans to
help us determine the hotter label.

Godwin vs Bobo:

Godwin is the massive hit single from Mavin artist,
Korede Bello which was released in January, 2015.
The single boasts of lyrics that talk about how good
God has been and it is a favorite among Nigerians.
The single was so massive that Korede Bello got
invites to even sing the song at a church, although a
number of people chastised the Church for inviting
Korede Bello to perform at a church.
Godwin was produced by Don Jazzy.
BOBO
Bobo is a massive single from YBNL boss, Olamide
Adedeji popularly known by his first name only. The
single was released on the 2nd of May, 2015 and
became an instant
hit.
The single is the only song we’ve heard this year that
has its own signature dance step, the ‘Shakiti Bobo’
dance which is also a favorite among youths and
some adults in the country today.
