Strange thing happened at a car park as Wizkid arrived at Akan Ibiam Airport, Enugu ahead of his performance at Glo side.

Few hours ago, Wizkid reached the Akanu Ibiam Airport, Enugu aboard a 5pm Medview flight ahead of his performance at Glo Slide and Bounce tour at Nnsukka tonight. As he arrived, a strange thing happened at the car park. His handler (a tall, big dude) and one aide (in dreadlocks) were his only companions. He was pretty ‘lowkey’. It Took a while for them to find their ride, and eventually, a Glo pickup truck pulled up. Branded with ‘Laffta Fest’ colours. Wizzy and the guy in dreads entered, but ‘the tall dude’ wasn’t too happy with the truck’s look or something. In fact they had filled the boots with his luggage, and then the tall guy changed his mind and called a wine coloured Toyota Camry cab for the pop star. Wizkid, a bestselling Nigerian music star, made headlines when he walked out of his endorsement deal with MTN to pitch his tent with rival brand Globacom. They later came down from the Glo truck and entered the Camry, tipped the airport staff (5 of them) and coff. The Glo truck had just a driver. No one else. He left ahead of them. It’s not clear why he came down, but the truck was overly branded and looked a little rickety. As someone put it: ‘It’s not a funny joke when a brand as big as Glo sends a panel van to pick a millionaire star like Wizkid.’.
