whats your take on this ?

julius-agwu-300x300.jpg After seeing Julius Agwu’s verbose interview with TVC, one wonders what the aim of the interview was in the first place. It did more harm than good. The respect and recognition that the entertainer craves has just been fritter away with unguided utterances and lack of restraint that comes with ‘elder statesman’s position he so desired be accorded to him. Where did Julius get it wrong? Mr Agwu is one of the very few entertainers in his ‘elderly’ category that talks too much. You can’t be a loose talker like he is and get the respect Elder-statesman’s position deserves. It is on record that Julius was the one that let the cat out of the bags to journalists about a comedian that didn’t graduate from UNILAG as against popular belief. And for the records, it wasn’t only Julius that ‘encouraged’ the diasporian Nigerians to return home and pursue music career. It is on record that Dele Momodu has a thing or two to do with Banky W, Dbanj and Don Jazzy as well. Mr. Agwu needs to quit this self important impression he has of himself. If Ali Baba wants credit for every good things he’s done for people and industry before he continues, he would have stopped by now. It is people who are self-obsessed and have larger than life impression of themselves that talks the way Julius has been talking. The reason Ali Baba still get the recognition he is getting now is because he is not asking for anything back even ‘common recognition’, Julius should learn a thing or two from that. If Julius starts behaving as an adult, stop talking without pause like a child and put off ‘put-him-down-behind-him syndrome’, the industry and life might just conspire to work in his favour the more. And as for the issue of his new found faith, Julius has demonstrated he needs new lessons on the life and times of Jesus. What kind of Christian tells his workers to give his life to Christ or get sacked? A Christian who isn’t follower of Christ, period. Christ was friend of sinners. He dined with unbelievers and was always in touch with people who weren’t his followers. What is the difference between ISIS and a Christian who forces others to accept Christ with threat of a sack? The gun! Julius has just made a mess of the ‘love your neighbour’ concept of Christianity. There was a report in the media some years ago that Julius as usual embarrassed top officials of a telecommunication company during a show hence the end of the ambassadorial consideration that was on the table then. Julius, a word of advise, the devil ‘resides’ in the mouth for some people. If we want to deal with the external devil, best is to deal with the one in the mouth first. His last outburst in the TVC interview is an indication that he’s yet to deal with that devil in the mouth! A word is enough for the wise.
